SealSAFE

WorkStation

A user-oriented capture and storage system for digital macro images of small biopsies
In today’s laboratory approximately 40-60% and in some instances up to 95% of specimens are endoscopic biopsies. Handling of these small specimens (3-20 mm) takes place in large, bulky grossing stations designed for very large surgical samples.
WorkSTATION has been developed to fill this technology gap and to document this manual step for patient safety and QA purposes. It dramatically reduces specimen turn-around time at the grossing station compared to conventional handheld systems.

PATHOS Delta is the result of Milestone’s 20 years of know-how in applying microwaves to tissue processing.
It provides the ideal combination of automatic processing performance, reagent efficiency and environmental sensitivity, with the morphology and quality that you expect.
PATHOS Delta dual retort tissue processor never moves paraffin wax, resulting in the tissue processor with the highest uptime by design. It runs xylene-free, eliminating solvent degradation of the paraffin. Long reutilization of paraffin wax, along with reduced consumption of reagents overall, delivering a dramatic cost saving.

Logos One

Fully automated processing and embedding in one unit
During the day, LOGOS One can run urgent biopsies in a short time as a fully automated unit. Molten wax is automatically transferred to and from the processing retort for the impregnation step.
During the night, LOGOS One can run protocols as an advanced and resistant heated processor. Improved operations are carried out through xylene-free protocols with only four reagents: formalin, ethanol, isopropanol and wax. It also has an optional delayed start mode, with a desired completion time set by the user, to allow additional fixation time, if needed.

Improving the workflow of the laboratory
In today’s histology labs, the workload consists approximately of 35-50% small biopsies (below 3 mm) and 40-50% surgical specimens. Transplant, STAT, Bone Marrows and urgent biopsies that require a rapid turnaround time are a minority of the total workload. This small number of biopsies interferes with the routine workflow of the laboratory and large capacity conventional tissue processors do not fulfill the requirements for the speed and flexibility.
Results within 50-60 minutes for stat, urgent or transplant biopsies.

Lean by Design. MAGNUS is the processor with the highest uptime by design. It does not require paraffin transfers, saving time and potential blockages. There are no cleaning cycles and a reduced consumption of reagents overall, delivering dramatic cost savings.
Safe by Design. It runs xylene-free, enabling long paraffin reutilization. Additionally, it checks alcohol purity before every step using the (optional) reagent sensor.
During the day, MAGNUS runs urgent biopsies in short, fully automated, continuous loading processes.

It’s time to revolutionize the rapid freezing process
PrestoCHILL reduces freezing time to 60 seconds: it eliminates freezing artifacts through ultrafast freezing, preventing the formation of ice crystals. Cut fatty tissues like breast or lymph nodes can be freezed without any sort of difficulty and without the distortion of delicate honeycomb structures.
It is possible to obtain perfectly “flat plane” surfaces to reduce trimming time and to cut easily while using the patented “face down” embedding technique.

PRESTO PRO is an innovative benchtop processor/stainer for high-quality frozen sections. It features a standardized approach to processing the slide with FineFIX, a patented Milestone solution followed by fully automated staining protocols.
It is now possible to produce frozen sections with a permanent-like quality by combining the artifact-free freezing of tissues of the PrestoCHILL unit with the outstanding features of the all-new PRESTO PRO processing/staining unit.
